Hardcoat Anodize Service

Hard Coating Service

HARDCOAT ANODIZE, an electro-chemical application similar to the standard anodize finish, provides and even more durable highly abrasion resistant aluminum surface. Generally used for applications that need a corrosion, abrasion, and wear resistant coating, this finish is often used for marine applications as its corrosion resistance, even to salt water, is outstanding.

A denser, thicker coating than standard anodize, hardcoat offers a buildup ranging from .0005 - .0025 inches. Coating thickness is very closely controlled making this and ideal application for machined aluminum pieces with high tolerances. Teflon Impregnation is available upon request.

Appearance of the hardcoat anodize coating ranges from light to dark gray, depending on the alloy makeup of the aluminum substrate, and it can also be dyed black.

Hardcoat features include:

  • Exceptional corrosion, wear and heat resistance.
  • Precision control of close tolerances.
  • Electrical insulation.
